Please drive very slowly into the pool. There is new gravel in the driveway and parking lot at the pool. It is easy to get stuck or spin out. Please go slower than you think you need too.
Please do not park vertically along the left hand side of the parking lot. This makes it difficult for cars backing out. Getting into a fender bender is the perfect way to ruin your fun pool day. Please park in an orderly fashion in the spots that are available. If the parking lot is full, please park in the church parking lot and make the short walk to the pool. If you park incorrectly, a member of the pool committee will ask you to move your car.
Please sign in and out every pool visit. The sign in sheet is located on the corkboard. This is required by Athens Clarke County Environmental Services.
All guests must be accompanied by a paid pool member. Memberships cannot be shared between households. If a person does not legally live with you, they are a guest. Sharing your membership code with others and not accompanying your guests to the pool will result in the suspension of your pool membership.
There is absolutely no drinking in the pool. Enjoy all beverages at the seating areas or lounge chairs at least 10 feet away from the pool. There are no glass containers allowed at the pool.
There is a land line at the pool. The phone is located outside of the Men's room door. In the case of an emergency, please try to use the landline to dial 911. The reason for this is because on the dispatcher's end, it comes up POOL and includes our address. This information is critical to getting help as fast as possible.
When you get out of the pool, please take any pool toys that you were using with you, unless someone else is using them.
Trained neighborhood volunteers open and close the pool. There is usually a member of the pool committee at the pool at all times. They are charged with keeping the pool clean and safe. That means enforcing rules and verifying memberships. It is really important to us that we respect their time, so please be out of the pool and packed up to go by 8pm.
The pergola area can be reserved for your party for $50. If you are interested in renting the pergola area for a party, please email me at westgatepakpool1@gmail.com to check the to see if the date and time you want are available. Pergola rentals are for 3 hour periods and include a half hour before and after for set up and clean up. All parties must be ended and cleaned up by 7pm. Pergola rentals include space for your family plus 10 additional guests. The pool will remain open to the membership during your event. Hosting a party at the pool without reserving the pergola area will result in membership suspension. Abusing the pergola rental will result in the suspension of your pool membership. If you have pizza, cake or large volumes of trash, please bring a trash bag and take it with you. Our garbage cans are not large and fill quickly especially on the weekends.
